High Altitude, Low Rules
Three celebrations, one Himalayan landscape

Three celebrations in the Himalayas, each answering the landscape differently.
High Altitude, Low Rules unfolded across three events in Manali: a hike and lunch, a cowboy night and a Mongolian-inspired finale. The altitude, terrain and changing weather were not production inconveniences to hide; they became the logic of the design.
Timber, tents, leather, layered rugs, firelight and live music carried the weekend from sun-washed afternoon into mountain night. Each event had its own visual character, but the material language kept the story connected.
Working lightly was essential. The landscape remained the largest gesture, while every installed element earned its place through warmth, function or atmosphere.
At altitude, restraint is not compromise. It is intelligence.

A terrain-led Manali wedding weekend spanning an outdoor lunch, western evening and richly layered night celebration.
The wedding weekend was set among wooden chalets in Manali, beneath snow-capped peaks. Each of its three events had its own character: a hike and lunch, a cowboy night and a Mongolian-inspired evening.

White tents, mountain views
Scalloped white tents with gingham tablecloths and woven pendant lamps kept the lunch light and open, so the mountains stayed the main view.
- 02
A saloon on the lawn
For the cowboy night, timber saloon doors, barrels, rope, a Saloon sign and a wheelbarrow full of cowboy hats set the scene, while a live band played on the grass.

Firelight for the last night
The Mongolian-inspired evening brought rugs, fire bowls, string lights in the trees and saddled yaks into the garden.

- Swinging wooden doors branded with a Y
- Low seating around fire bowls on layered rugs
- Beams of light rising into the night sky
